Hi, I am new to this board. Steve told me about it at the FLW Chamionship. Nice board with great feedback.

I was wondering is there good muskie fishing in IA?

the iowa great lake are real good muskie lakes. west okaboji and spirit lakes are at a all time high for muskie population. i was a west okaboji this summer and caught a 32" and a fat 38". Clear lake also has a desent muskie population.

IGL's, Clear Lake, and Pleasant Creek would be your best bet...other than that...nothing really...3-mile might be worth a shot...but I only catch sunken trees...nothing much else...

Hey Reels,
Glad to see you here. It was a pleasure to meet you, sir! Careful, this crew will hook you on muskies, and fast.

The pleasure was mine Steve. Great advice you gave me. A very good read.

As for the muskies, I only catch the little ones.

Beautiful fish, sir! Anytime you are in the Rhinelander area, you are welcome to stay at the Hideout, my home away form home for wayward muskie anglers. Heck, I'd even welcome a walleye guy if pressed hard enough.

There are some good waters in Iowa no doubt but if you are in the eastern side of Iowa a trip to one of the great musky lakes in southwestern Wis. might just be the ticket!!

Hi Muskydr- Do you have some recommendations of lakes? One that may have (dare I say) walleyes too in SE WI?

Thanks again Steve. Fishing up in northern WI, wow. Been a while, but that area has a special place in my heart. I spent many years in Mercer.
