Looking for a bit of your experience here.

I usually fish a fairly clear water Metro musky lake in the mornings, 5:30 - 12. We do move fish but not not many, usually 4-6 per outing but can't seem to find the more aggresive fish.

Here is what I am wondering: At this time of the year, would you reccomend fishing inside the weedline in shallow water in the morning time, or outside the weed edge?

Thanks,

Steve

Shallow. I'd fish wherever there is cover, and did I mention shallow? Ask Slamr, the slop rules many times during the late summer and early fall period. I spend a tremendous amount of my early to late fall on the water time fishing rocks and weeds in 4' or less. During the after turn over, from sun-up to about 8:30 or later if cloudy, I will concentrate on the 3' to 6' breakline so prevelant on area waters, even on the stones.

All the way to ice up I do well in the skinny water.
