Going up to Big St Germain Lake in Vilas County Wisconsin Sept 18 thru 23. I have been fishing there for a number of years but would like to know what the water levels are this year as well as any hot ideas or tips. Thanks!

The water is down a bit, that's for sure. I hear the same patterns and techniques are the standard this year, but for one thing; it's been very warm the last couple weeks for this time of the year, so it's still summer as of now. 88 degrees today, 82 tomorrow.

Thanks much. Is Musky Jack still around at one of the resorts yet? I am trying to get some more of his skunktails.

I have always found the lakes at St Germain pretty well open in regards to water skeirs, ski whizs and jets, and etc. being not on the lake after Labor day. The business areas are pretty well open for lots of customers then too. Good Luck!

Fished Big St this weekend with no success....worked all the bars etc and didnt manage a fish. Did get one small pike....but really who wants that? Also ripped the lip off my brand new grandma....what a great outing! Anybody got some tips for early october fishing (no live bait...tournament). Any help would be appreciated

Smelly told me he got 3 of the 8 on Sunday. That is the day he got there. Since the rain stoped on Monday, he has not caught another fish.
