Hi there,

I have a Triton TR-20 with dual livewells. The livewells will pump in,pump out and recirculate. There are two pumps (1 for each livewell)

The problem I am having is that the port side wont pump in,but will recirculate and pumpout. The starboard side wont recirculate, but will pump in and pump out.

I am wondering if these are 3 stage pumps?? I would think that if there was a problem with the pumps they would stop working all together. If its not the pumps, how do I go about diagnosing the problem??

Thanks in advance

Is there a switch that you set for three positions, pump in, out, and recirc? Does it look something like this? If so, it's adjustment, the valve is not positioning properly in one position. Otherwise, describe what the control looks like and I'll see if I can help.

Thanks for the reply..My controls are on the console next to my steering wheel. There not like the ones in the picture.Theres maybe 4 sets of 3 switches that operate everything on the boat(power,livewell,lights,bilge..There are settings for in,out and recirculate. The knobs are half the size of the one pictured. I was told that something might be lodged in the jet,or something.I have no idea how to check for that and dont want to make matters worse...

Thanks again

Ben I had a TR19 with the same pump setup. I believe they are seperate pumps for recirc/pump in and for pumpout. If your boat is 3 years or less Triton will replace ANYTHING on that boat free of charge. If you don't have a dealer nearby they will mail you the parts, no questions asked. I found their customer service people to be outstanding every time I needed something from new decals to a water presure gauge. If your boat is older than 3 years, be up front and tell them and then tell them you don't have a dealer in your area and ask them to charge you and ship the part to you direct. I bet they ship it and don't even charge you.

In your quest to diagnose the problem you may want to post this question at www.bassboatcentral.com on their Triton board and at www.wmi.org/bassfish on the boats & motors board. A ton of Triton guys live on those boards.

Steve: What kind of adjustments are there, I have a Lund that has a problem with the Front Livewell where when the boat is out of the water and the front switch is set to recirculate the water leaks out of the Live well via the fill / drain on the transom enough so that I cant buy suckers on the way to thew lake
