| While out fishing today I was thinking (this is usually a bad thing when this happens) ?
What percentage of skill, luck and how good you are play a part in your fishing success.
If I had to break it down I think it would be like this:
1/3 - Understanding the fish and it's habits during a particular season.
And knowing where the fish should be and what it should be doing ( or what we would like it to do)
1/3 - Knowing the body of water (reefs, weeds, bait fish ect.ect.)
1/3 - Luck!
Kind of like the story of the blind squirrel finding a nut. Is it better to be good or just lucky. I have fished with a friend who is a vary good fisherman, but in the last 14 years he has only put one legal fish in the boat, that was on a sucker and we handed him the rod. Every year he catches his share of muskies, and I have done real well when we fish together but he just can't seem to put anything in the boat. He just doesn't seem to have any luck when were out. |
