Posts: 32959 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | I was on the road all day yesterday videotaping a new Tuffy 2060 with a 225 E Tec HO on the way back from the PWT on Oahe. We met and ran the new rig at Big Stone, then made the long haul back home. Sue and I made it out in the blasting heat for the last two hours of light today. We saw 6, missed three, one was a good fish. All the action came on Violent Strike Willow Mags. How'd you do? Attachments ---------------- DSC_0020.JPG (15KB - 145 downloads)

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | I just got back from a week up north. Man was that needed. Ended up getting 9 all together up to 43. Lost one around 46 on a creeper. (stupid fish) Most were on Magdawgs on fish that were chewing pannies right off the weedlines. Did get the 43 on a weagle though. The cool thing is I had a frieds fiancee with me when that fish ate, and he about fell out of the boat when he saw it hit. LOL He did a great job netting it as well. Unfortunately, he didn't boat one in the 2 trips we took, but he did have 2 fish chasing. Both times he said. Holy $#@# theres one right here. Then proceeded to do the rod spear technique as he plunged the rod back in the water. Lots of pike and some good bass caught as well with the bride. Overall, excellent trip.

Posts: 578 Location: Sheboygan Falls, WI | Got back Sunday night from a few day in Minacki on a business trip. Spent a few hours each day either before or after meetings pounding the water. First day the guy with me had a 40"er up on his 4 cast using a Manta. Saw fish 3 of 4 days. Nothing but "Snot Rockets" (northern) in my boat. Saturday night late afternoon and evening spent the whole time pounding the waters of Rough Rock Narrows and Rough Rock Lake. Saw a few fish, all on top water. First fish was a solid 40"er+ that was up on a Thunderhead for me. Next fish blew up on the Thunderhead. Switched the guy with me from a spinnerbait to a T.R. Globe. He had a northern try to eat that and then had 2 musky in the upper 30" to low 40" class fish show great interest, but no committment. Thunderstorms were rolling in and I wanted to go back and try to get that first 40"er that was up on the Thunderhead. About my 5th cast I had MY ULTIMATE FISH that I have been waiting a life time for show its beautiful face, back, tail; THEY WHOLE GOSH DARN BODY!!!!!! Two weeks ago I lost a fish on LOTW that was in the mid 50'' range, a guy in our group had a 49"er and now this BEAST!!! This fish was ALL in that mid 50" range. Came up on the bait and took 3 "chomps" at the bait missing it each time and then one BIG CHOMP and it missed the whole thing. Would not go into a figure 8 or anything. The tail and back were out of the water as it pushed the bait along until it tried to eat it. I followed up with other various top water, bucktails, twitch baits, jerk baits, glide baits; everything!!! NOTHING!!! How can a fish that size NOT be able to eat something like that? It had to have been eating good to reach that size. Oh well, the hunt goes on. With the number of VERY LARGE fish that I have been seeing, I am going to eventually stick one of those 50"+ beasts. Overall, a great long weekend. Boom this week for league. Other bodies of water this next weekend where I know there are BIG fishies. Can't waite for my last Canada trip to Crow Lake in September. Good Fishing, Chuck

Posts: 1764 Location: Ogden, Ut | My 'weekend' was Sunday and Monday. Fished for about 3.5 hours on Sunday and had one up on the magic Bomber (missed the bait), then later stuck and landed a 37" tiger on Muskie Treat #48 series 2005. Best part of that fish was doing it after 2 boats leapfrogged me to cut me off from the spot I was working. Used some of the knowledge I gained from the Goon trip a couple weeks ago and just more thoroughly worked the area they just came from! Was great to stick that fish from right where they were working. Monday was an all day affair, moved about 7 fish but only 3 tried to eat, we boated 2 of them - my boat partner got a 28 (his first muskie ever) and I got a 34. Both boatside hits - mine was 2 turns into an 8. All in all a pretty good weekend. Sorno
