Location: Mauston, Wisconsin | Join the local muskie club. A lot of folks fish alone, i.e., because they are obsessed too, and they usually would welcome a boat partner. It also helps to contribute to the gas bill or buy lunch. But most guy's will welcome you if you make the effort. Myself +85% of the time I'm fishing alone. Like was said before in this thread, post where you live and where you'd like to fish, you might be surprised to find multiple offers to fish.

I take it you are in MN? Well, if you're near or in the Twin Cities, there are two fine Muskies, Inc chapters here. The North Metro has a listing on the newsletter of people looking for fishing partners and a number of those folks have their own boats. The two chapters both have lots of nice folks and most are very knowledgable. I'm sure you could hook up with people in either chapter.
I'd highly recommend joining one of the MI chapters no matter where you live.

Location: twin cities, mn | Thanks for the advice and the offers. I guess I left out some important info...I live in the twin cities but will travel to fish. Of course I would be willing to split gas or buy lunch. Hell…if we boat a 50 incher I’ll buy the first round (or two). Favorite lakes...any that contain musky. I will definitely look into the MI chapters, I didn’t realize there were two in the cities. Thanks again and please keep the offers coming. |

you will find "everything' your looking for by going to the TwinCitys Muskies inc meetings both the Twin Citys Chapter and North Metro,,alot of people go to both,,TC meets the second tues of the month in Bloomington,,North Metro meets the third tues in Fridley,,,next month TC chapter has no "formal" meeting but our annual picnic at Minnehaha falls youir welcome to attend its the second tues at 7pm,,North metro kind of suspeneds their formal meetings from June through August but has on the water get togethers,,,Both chapters will resume their formal monthly meetings in sept with great speakers, door prizes, and rod and reel raffles,,"out in the boat fishing",,youll get seasick with all the potenetial time you could line up,,all the way through DEC,,,we have outings to Canada,Vermillion,L.O.TW and just a day locally people are always looking for boat partners and welcome them with the high price of gas now,,Tc chapter has the largest membership in the county and North metro is up there too in members so you have aalot of potential fishing buddies |
