Posts: 20219 Location: oswego, il | How are the temps on vermillion? Have a trip planned in august, i remember last year they had frost the week before we went, probably not this year. Might not take any musky gear with me if this sucky weather persists.

Was out on Vermilion all last week. Water temps as of Friday 7/15 were running 78-84. Probably have gone up a notch since then with this heat and warm nights. We need a massive cold front bad....

Posts: 275 | temperatures on V ran into the low 80s this past week. One good one followed out from under a dock. Two other follows from babies in the weeds. The couple in the cabin next to us landed a 46" and a 39". Northerns were in the weeds and on rocky shores. Smallies were still on the shorelines and were pounding what you threw at them. my wife caught the fish of the trip a 20" smallie. The smallie looked like a carp coming into the boat. We revived and released her to get those genes into the pool again next year. Tom

Looks like things MAY cool off a bit in Minnesota. The 10 day forecast looks favorable at least. Starting in a day or two.

Posts: 2024 | For Garrison, MN weather.com is predicting a severe thunderstorm today/tonight with almost a 20 degree drop in temp. between today and tomorrow (90-70). It will heat back up for a day or two but looks to drop back down to 80ish then into the 70s next week. Keep checking the weather. I like www.weather.com but www.accuweather.com has 15 day forecasts and doppler radar coverage for whatever area you're looking at. Who really knows though? Weather can change in an instant and sometimes the long-range 10-15 day forecasts aren't very accurate.

Posts: 956 Location: Home of the 2016 World Series Champion Cubs | Just spoke to friends of mine on the water up there today, tuesday July 19. Water temps were in the low 80's on the east end of the lake. They had a wicked storm sunday to monday and the winds were just starting to let up this evening. They said it was brutal. Simply put fishing has sucked. Several follws by quality fish but none of the six guys has boated a fish since getting there on sat. A local guide, musky tom, did manage a 45"er on mon. The weather forecast calls for more stable and cooling weather through the end of the week. Good luck to all. Karl. Edited by KARLOUTDOORS 7/24/2005 11:29 PM

Bring the Muskie stuff. The middle of day is not the best time to catch them if its that hot, but it can be done. Right place right time factor always plays a role and the only way to do that is to be fishing for them. Surface temps were in the lower 80's last week, but we hooked plenty of fish to know just because its hot doesnt mean they wont eat. Ine the week I landed 3, hooked 5. My other friend hooked and landed one, and another guy that went hooked 4 but didnt keep them on. 3 of those fish we hooked were 50"plus. Good luck Todd. Hope you do well. We need to hit the local muskies together sometime.

The water temps. are 78-80 . The fish that I'm seeing are some of the BIGGEST I've ever seen on the big V. I have been moving the big girls in both weeds & on the rocks. Had 4 good sized fish on But........... Saw over a dozen in one day! Man I Suck!! These fish are due to start tearing my lures to shreads. It's just a matter of time. Time on the water=BIG FISH.....Right Chad & Musky Tom?
