How'd the muskies cooperate for you this weekend? Sue and I boated 4 in the low to mid 30 class and a couple shorties, and had a great time. Looks like the heat's leaving us here in the North for a few days, a welcome respite for certain.

Today was a record high in the metro Milwaukee area of 99!
I don't have any muskies to report, but yesterday morning gave us 80#+ of Chinook Salmon. They fight well and are great in the pan!

Been helping a friend work on his new house the past few weekends, haven't been out. Deb and I are headed for the Big Pond next weekend for 6 days... :) :)

we had a group of about 27 people visit us for an outing on the sugar camp chain hosted by Gary Myshak. we had a great time with visits from muskies 411 and badfish outdoors along with a lure raffle and all-around great time. i think 7 fish were caught saturday with a number of follows and i for one blew a nice fish ... ughhh! highlight was a first-timer 39" that won the traveling trophy for this group.

saturday opened a really nice pre-front feeding window when most fish were active.

Took the nephew out for some walleyes on LOTW. Had a great day, got him a 42" pike and 27" walleye. I also pulled a 41" pike and a 27" walleye. Fishing for 'eyes has been so good its hard to get back in the muskie mode.

later,

Still doing well on the flowages near Tomahawk, another 50 came out of the river this past weekend, a nice fish that will swim no more:( Feeding windows have been pretty short with most of my action coming the last hour of light.

Suspendo acton was going good again this weekend as clients boated 5 fish on Friday. 3 over 40", biggest at 44.5". Only had one fish in the boat each Sat. and Sunday. Like MuskyDr said, the feeding windows have been very short for this time of year. It's been more like Fall fishing. 4 of the 5 fish on Friday were caught between 5:30 and 6:60 pm.

Rubber baits take top honors again this weekend for most fish, but for consecutive weekends an Ernie put a 44"+ in the boat. The suspendos for the most part are the true suspendos without much for structure in the near vacinity. Fish were relatively high in the water column, but some good ones were moved fished deeper with countdowns.

It was good to see the temps had dropped from the previous weekend of 82° down to 75° this weekend.

The wife and I were up on Lake Vermillion, wed-sat. First time on the lake, and I"ve never seen so many BIG fish, too bad we never got any to go! Started out wed, nite with Musky Tom, had a blast with him, learned some good spots and the wife got a pike. Had some fish blow up on topwaters in the evenings, never got the steel in any. Everyone we saw was throwing bucktails, so I tried everything else. Had one hawg huffin' on a Hellhound, but wouldn't eat it. Trolled up some pike and got one on a Triple D, first fish on one. Saw most of the fish on the rocks, had some in the weeds, but the rocks were the ticket. The resort owners son, age 10 got his first, a 50" and there were at least 2 other 50's caught earlier in the week.
We'll definately be back!!

Picked the kids up from Grandma's in Hayward, went out there and my wife got the nice walleye with the kids.

I had the worst night of fishing in my life last night! The heat index was 117 yesterday and not much lower at midnight. I don't think Rod understood me when I told him I can't take the heat until last night. He had three pathetic hits on topwater, and I had one small fish hit and miss a spinner going into a figure eight. How I long for the days of jigging a Fuzzy in January! Later
