Location: Crystal Lake, IL | Hello All,
I'm heading up to Gordon Wisconsin the week of 7/31-8/5 and was wondering if anyone has fished Lower Eau Claire lake in Douglas County (I think). Any information you can provide would be helpful. Thanks in advance.

Location: Chicago, IL | Lower Eau Claire can be pretty tough to fish as it is really clear and there is not a ton of structure... That being said I would start with the weeds in about 8-10 feet. They are well in from the actual break in most cases so do not worry if you dont see weeds on the break in the 15-20' range... go shallower and you should find them. There is not a clear edge so you may have to do a bit of zig zagging. There is a mid-lake hump that can be good. I would try and catch it on an overcast day or in the evening if possible.

Location: Stevens Point | I have never fished lower but have fished middle. As mentioned weeds seem to be a good place to start. Try shallower sandy areas from dusk to dawn. Middle is also fairly clear and tough to fish. good luck. let us know how you do. |
