| I haven't done this in a while, so I figured I better give em a good greasing before I head to LOTW this weekend.
I hooked the gun up and gave her a few pulls, but I am not sure how much grease a guy is supposed to jam in those things?

Location: Algonquin, ILL | Ball Cap: That along with checking tire preassure ( Don't forget to check the spare ) should be a regular maintenance item, I check mine every two weeks during the season and at every gas stop when traveling long distances.
Good luck on the woods

Location: Athens, Ohio | I'm guessing you have Bearing Buddies. If so, the directions (ugh! did mikie read the directions??!!) say to fill them until the spring starts to compress (the plate behind the spring will start to move). You don't need to fill them until the plate comes all the way out, which I found out the hard way (pre-directions) will heat up the grease during travel until it expands and blows the rear seal.
Now, my Gambler's trailer has a grease system where the grease is actually shot out in the middle of the hub. Those are different, and the reply about fill until some starts appearing is good advice there.
I carry an extra set of bearings in case I'm in BFE and the bearings burn out, I can at least find someone to help me replace them without waiting for/ finding parts. Enjoy your trip! m |
