Posts: 2068 Location: Appleton,WI | I just added a few rubbertails to some gliders for this weekend.Do they catch more fish than say a non tailed bait? Does the tail size matter? I hope i added the tails right heres a picture.will these work? THanks! Ill donate a few of these for the kly auction! Posts: 4266 | I just threw some Squirkos, some Muskie Treats and a couple of Castors (that I added trailers to the rear end of the lure and moved the hooks forward and went to round bend trebles) and I must say, even tossing them in the pool, they looked like something that would get eaten. I noticed that by using a 5" Kalin on the lures, the side to side gliding action didn't suffer at all. When I went to bigger grubs, there wasn't much side to side action. Probably because of the drag produced by the bigger tail. I liked the way that the 5" Kalins added a little something extra without taking away from the action of the lure. I'd liken it to putting a plastic trailer on a bucktail. The one place where I can really see it helping is when the lure is in an 8. Lots of guys have asked, "How do you figure 8 a glider." Well, when there is a plastic trailer on it, the lure looks very good in a figure 8. Also adding a bright color trailer to a dark lure will help you to keep visual contact. I'll be making a small selection of Kick-Ass Castors to take up to Cass with me in a couple of weeks. I'll make sure that I give them ample water time to give them a good test.
