Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Only two fish were caught in the abbreviated-by-lightning evening competition yesterday on Manson, Crescent, and Oneida lakes. A 38 and a 35.5 were caught on Crescent. 40 anglers hit the water at 5 PM, and would have fished until 9 if the weather had allowed. Spectacular rains and lightning, followed by one of the brightest rainbows I've ever seen right at dusk chased us off the water and into Cheap Seats Sports Bar for dinner and drinks. ater temps were in the low seventies. I moved three fish and missed one on a Weagle. |

Location: minocqua, wi. | great time and good people ... thanks Norm for getting me to "commit" instead of just subbing. it's a shame the lightning was there because it was one of those nights that felt right. |

Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | It did feel fishy last night. I had one shot at a fish that smacked a topwater.....but no dice. Way too much lightning for me to put the boat back out there.
Jon, great to meet you last night, you are gonna love this league! |

Location: Pelican Lake/Three Lakes Chain | Our league fished last night on the Moen's Chain. Overcast skies and cooler temps greeted us, and nearly everyone was moving fish. There were a bunch of undersize caught, but only two that measured. Mr. Worrall boated a 37 on a topwater, and jonnysled a 40" on a weagle.
Interesting side note to our league. Last year we never had a night with less than 3 fish caught. The first two nights of 2005 have only produced 2 each. Same lakes, same time of year and higher water temps, kind of strange I thought. |
