Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | I recently posted how Pete's Sportsman was not like the big commercial bait shops and has many hard to find, small time manufacturers in his shop.
I was wrong in naming the commercial bait shops in that context and I should have wrote the old Gander Mountain if I was to specify.
Justin Gaiche the new fishing department manager for Appleton, Gander Mountain has pulled the musky selection 180. It has fast become one of those places I have a hard time walking out of without buying another musky bait and most peeps know I already have way too many. He has also brought in the essentials to go with the baits, like good hooks (everyone who musky fishes better have a stock pile in his boat).
He has initiated a relationship with the C & R Musky Club as well. He attended our Banquet with donations and welcomed us to the store with our raffle boat when he held musky seminars including Joe Bucher back in April.
Next time you have a chance to stop, make sure you ask for Justin (8inchcrank from M1st), he has the musky thing as bad as most of us here and you surely could pick up on a hot tip or two. |

| Yup, Justin is a good guy. He's all pumped aboout his new boat, and he's done a heck of a job in the musky end of things at the Appleton Gander. I enjoy stopping in by him, even if he does pimp me for info all the time! hehehe |

| I do not think you said anything wrong. There is something said for small shop that gets lures minus the bar codes, and something to be said for the big oufitters with all the colors and selections in baits and clothing.Bill
