Location: Lino Lakes, MN | I was just creating an album here on the site, but it is telling me that my pictures are too big to upload. I am using Nikon Picture Project to upload pics. How can I edit them to get them under the 400KB that is needed to post them to the album? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot.

Location: Minneapolis, MN | You might want to get a copy of a good photo editing software. After you learn it you will be glad you have it. It will help you crop your photos, get rid of red eye, remove shoreline background in your pictures ;-), etc. Most of the good applications have a "Save for Web" function that optimizes the photo for use on the web (compression). I have Adobe Photoshop Elements and ULead Picture It. Both are relatively low cost and worth every penny. |

Open the picture you want to resize in paint. Click Image on the Menu bar. Click Stretch/Skew. Type in the same percentage to Horizontal and Vertical (Stretch only). Try 65%. If the full image can be seen on your computer, then it is small enough to upload. Finally, save the file as a JPEG. |
