HOLY CRAP!! That fish is huge. What was the tag number on her, you could see the yellow tag near her dorsal fin. I would be curious to see the info on her from the biologist!!

Congrats man, and congrats to your girlfriend!!

I started thinking about that too. That very well could of been a new state record. I remember hearing of a 48 with a 26 inch girth that weighed a little over 40 pounds, so that had to be close. Atleast 38 pounds for sure, if not heavier!!

Holy crap, you may of just released a state record. Please tell me you have the tag number on that fish!!

Talked to shawn hurtst today. Turns out that this hog was tagged for the first time March 4, 2005 by Allen Island. It was the first time she had been "captured" by IDNR. She is estimated at 8-12 years old. She was 47.5 and had a 22" girth with a total wieght of 32lbs when tagged. I caught her on April 17, 2005 1/8 mile from the boxcar. She was 47.25 and had a 26" girth with a total wieght of 36lbs+. In little over a month she traveld over 4 miles and gained a 4" girth all during the spawn. WOW! I think this SIUC study along with the IDNR is going to open up a whole new world on how we precieve these kinkaid muskies..

Fished all over and saw nothing. Had to work at 3 so I called it early. Took a couple cast's at the dock before leaving. A mid 30's roll's on my bait and bites off the trailer grub. Missed him by an inch...

Fishing has been good for the most part. A lot of fish are being moved and some even make to the bag. I lost my mojo and finally found it today. Boated two small fish,35 and 36.5, both heavy bodied. I had to leave at three, but I had fun. Later

esox1850......Where is the report? A bob cat, 3ft snake, and a muskie is not good enough.......

Nope not good enough!! Haha, Don't bother going to Kinkaid, there are no fish in there..... Actually been too busy to post a report. Had to take the trolling motor in yesterday to be fixed from tagging that stump this weekend and had meetings downtown today if you were interested. 4/24-2/25 on Kinkaid for the first time. Weather was tough. Rain and 40s on Saturday. Did manage a largemouth and a 33"er trolling. Oh yeah and a large bobcat on shore. Got some great pics of it. Sunday got up late and helped out with the lake cleanup for a little bit and then went out for a little bit. Nothing going. Almost tore the t-motor off the front of the boat! Hope it isn't too much. Thanks again Scott.

Fished from 6 a.m. till 2 p.m. today. Water has cooled off a lot. Water is still fairly clear. Weeds are getting green. Got a 43 and a 38.5, both spawned out. I also got one of those green carp with a big mouth. Later
