Posts: 336 Location: Lino Lakes, MN | Hey, I was kicking around the idea of getting a weekly outing going out on the local ponds down here this summer. Probably would keep it primarily on Pewaukee, but could head over to Okauchee and Oconomowoc too. I talked to John over at Smokey's, and he offered up use of his grills and patio for a headquarters. I don't know how many people would be interested, but I thought it might be a nice way to get a bunch of guys together. I am thinking about Thursday nights, but if anyone has any suggestions, let me know. Maybe throw in 10 bucks a guy per week, or else throw in 50 for the summer and pay out top 3 places. Just an idea. If anyone is interested or has any suggestions, drop me a line. Lazer

Posts: 5874 | When Jason Smith lived down there, and was a Milwaukee Chapter member, he ran some Chapter outings, about 5 or 6 a year. Also, there were the Wednesday evening outings. I think Rick Meyer ran those for a couple years. Haven't done them for the past couple years. Lazer, if you are not a member, why don't you join, and get this organized through the club? I bet they would love it if somebody took this over again. Just a thought. Seek out the Extreme One for advise on this one, too.

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | Hey Shep, Eric is a member. I think that is a good idea to do it through the chapter. Good info to be had by all. I would be able to make it once in a while, but it is tough on weekdays to shoot all the way up there. Maybe I could be a net b!tch for someone, so I don't have to stop and get the sled.

Posts: 156 Location: Oconomowoc, WI | This will be discussed this evening at 6 pm at Amnesia in Okauchee during the IMTT get together. The IMTT directors are starting a traveling Wednesday or Thursday night musky league. Lakes will include: Pewaukee, Okauchee, Oconomowoc, Fowler/Labelle. Anyone interested in more information, giving suggestions, or just free food and beer are welcome to come tonight.

Posts: 7090 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | If it were to start at say, 6PM, I would be able to make it a good amount of the time. Make it a "league" and I'm totally there.

Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | You know what, I may be able to make these afterall. I think I am going to be working different (earlier) hours at work now. Maybe we should throw Silver Lake into the mess, and maybe Delevan as well? That way we can learn that upcoming water.

Posts: 7090 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | I would be all for a rotating water situation, its just that I really CANT do anything farther west than Oukachee, and even that would be a stretch. I will be getting into the office EARLY EARLY if I need to be fishing by 6PM.

Posts: 880 Location: New Berlin,Wisconsin,53151 | I'm game, in fact there are a couple of boats that would be interested. Years back when I fished bass, Okauchee-Pewaukee had a Tuesday night league that was fun. Everyone entering paid a fee and depending on the numbers, they paid back 2 or 3 places. With the traffic on Pewaukee it shouldn't be to hard to get a bunch of boats involved. Put a flyer in the bait stores. If John at Smokies is willing to let us meet there, thats half the battle. Your using launch sites for the other lakes mentioned? Keep me informed, Netman

Posts: 156 Location: Oconomowoc, WI | I'm fine with adding other lakes and we can discuss. The original thought was stay where most of the anglers live but rethinking that, we probably will have enough that don't live in the Pewaukee/Oconomowoc area and that it makes sense to travel a bit. Time is the issue.

Posts: 156 Location: Oconomowoc, WI | Netman, Sites already discussed were: Smokies/Waterfront for Pewaukee Jollymons for Okauchee Public launch for Oconomowoc Spinnakers/Lakers for LaBelle/Fowler

Posts: 11 | That sounds like a cool idea. Just be careful about Oconomowoc though, with the launch situation that might be a tough lake to get on if there are alot of boats. I think they have only around 20 spots and they usually fill up pretty good by 6:00.

Posts: 203 Location: Germantown, WI | Tuffy1, You can net my fish anytime. Seriously this sounds like a good idea. I like the idea of an informal gathering with a small payout more than a formal league. I could probably make it a couple of times a month if it was midweek. Tom

Posts: 7090 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | Idea for winnings for a weekly versus year-long league: $20 to fish -$10 of that goes to THAT week's winner -$10 of that goes into a rolling pot that is awarded to the angler at the end X# of weeks of Thursday league nights. Ex: average 15 anglers/week = $300. Each week with this average, each week's winner is awarded $150. 15 weeks of competition X $150 pot growth = $2250 for the grand prize winner. Its just a quick thought, but this way, a guy can put his money in a few weeks, still have a chance at winning (and of course get to have some fun fishing), but doesnt feel like if he doesnt plan on fishing EACH AND EVERY WEEK to win. Have more ideas here, but dont want to be speaking (any more) where I shouldnt be.h
