Location: Elkhart, IN | This will be about the earliest I've started fishing for muskies, and was wondering when bucktails start becoming effective? I'm going to be fishing saturday, highs are only supposed to be in the mid 40's, should I be thinking in terms of how you would for bass with a suspending lure or are muskies more active in the cold and actually willing to chase a lure? I know glide baits like the Magic Maker will work, but was curious about bucktails and if they're a waste of time?

| Cross poster, bucktails work ice out to ice up. Work them slowly during cold water temperatures and speed burn those babies when the water temperatures are warm! |

Location: Wayzata, MN | I agree [I throw a lot of bucktails]. The common thought is to go a little smaller in the spring too... but experiment a bit. |
