Posts: 389 Location: Presque Isle Wisconsin | How has this lure performed in weed cover vis a vis slopmaster or others? Looks well designed to me but Ive never tossed one.Has anyone dressed it with an add on plastic tail? If so did the tail cause additional weed fouling? Which weight option worked best for you? Thanks ......Howie

Posts: 2089 | Howie, I've used the 2oz for most weed presentations.I do like the 3oz more for deeper weeds and when running the weedline. The shorter arm design does real well deflecting weeds.I've also added a #8 colorado to the 1oz model and really like it when fishing coontail and thicker stuff.Much slower fall and you can let it helicopter down into pockets.Almost a finesse bait. We'll see what the Tonka fish think in a couple months. This year, the boys from ERC came out with a 5oz model which should be dynamite for trolling and working deeper humps.Gets into the zone a little faster. As of yet, I haven't used any plastics on the grinders.I like the saltwater material they use that hangs back behind the hook.Comes alive and reflects light really well.Good luck and have a great season.Hope this helps. Posts: 389 Location: Presque Isle Wisconsin | Thanks Steve.....Which salt water material did you use?I like the idea of the colorado blade to slow the fall and the 5oz. model would be very nice for a lot of my type of fishing.

Posts: 2089 | Howie, The stuff they use on them is like flashabou but the strips are wider.1/16" or so.As I was typing the other post, I kept thinking of the 5oz and knowing how you fish, it would be perfect for that stuff. Those deep hump fish have more than likely, never seen a spinnerbait.Post the pictures when you hammer 'em! Posts: 90 Location: Florence, Wisconsin | I used one quite a bit last summer and had very good success with it getting through the weeds and hooking up. It is one of my go-to mid-summer, mid-day baits. Bo Queen

Posts: 3518 Location: north central wisconsin | I had good luck with the 2 oz, though I swithed to a fluted #7 or 8 or a colorado 8 which maded them more weedless in my opinion than the willow. Wife and I did very well with them from August on. I ran a Mugambo tail on the trailer hook with little fouling problems.

Howie, I've got a few of them in 2oz. and am quite impressed with them in the slop. Only thing I found is that the rubber/silicone skirt seemed to get caught up in the hackle/feathers after a while and it didn't give it much fluttering/swimming action. I cut the feathers off and no more problem... Like Jonesi, I too like the saltwater flashboo/tinsel strips. Mess around with changing blades styles to your preference for different presentations. All in all a well built spinner... Best, Mark Hintz Musky Adventures www.markhintz.com Chippewa Falls, WI

Posts: 1938 Location: Black Creek, WI | My favorite is the 3 oz. Grinder. Great for gettin' down in the weeds and even better for burnin' deep out off the breaklines. Matt was nice enough to allow me the privildge to fish with a few of the prototype 5 oz. Grinders to my box last season. I cast them with high expectations and was hoping the 5 oz. model would fill the bill for slow rolling deep.... or even be a better deep running burner than the 3 0z.... but it is just a tad too heavy for any serious casting applications in my opinion. But, I did score trolling the 5 ouncer... and considering that I am a complete idiot when it comes to trolling... that says alot (heh heh). jlong

Grinders are great musky spinnerbaits and I have been very happy with them since they came out. They cast, grind, and troll very well. For casting I also like CJ's spinnerbaits, for grinding I also like Rad Dog spinnerbaits, and for trolling I also like M&G spinnerbaits.
