Anyone catch Pete Maina's trolling presentation at the Chicago show? He mentioned a specific brand trolling board that he uses which allows for easy changing of equipment. Anyone know who makes that board?

I'd ask Pete himself. Go to the next bite .com. Thats www.thenextbite.com.

He uses a mr walleye board. So do I. The best in-line board for musky trolling hands down.

That's just your opinion, Todd. I use the Offshore boards, and have no problems with them. I sold my Mr. Walleye boards last fall. They work well, too. The biggest problem I have with them is when they submarine, they are a be-otch to get back up to the surface. Much tougher than the Off Shore.

This fish was caught using an Offshore board. And if you look real close, you can see that DaveJ also uses the Off Shore boards.

Shep, My walleye boards do not submarine anymore. Adjust the weight to the rear of any board that stalls out and a straight retrieve when you bring them in. No more dives. Unless you modified the offshore clip system, they are not fast to deal with when fighting a fish. I can release my board to the leader in one second. No slack line and no lost fish. The walleye board also stays more in the water then the offshore too. I have used both as well. I still love that pic of you and your son.

i was at the seminar i beleive he said he used the mr walleye boards, he also mentioned the yellowbirb bigbird? brand were good too. i just started experimenting with them this year, and havnt tried the mr walleyes yet. i tried the offshore brand and didnt like them they didnt seem to work well with raiders and big jakes, maybe it was just me though. i have a pair of the birg bird yellowboards now and the worked out good for the limited time i used them, and we did get 2 fish oon them this year.!

I just got a set or Mr. Walleye Board for Christmas. I asked for those because of the quick release pin on the rear of the board and the weight system. To me they look very functional...but I still have to try them out.

It sure is great that we have choices. I tried Yellow Birds a few tears ago and I did not like them. Rodney the Barber had Offshore and did not like them. We both went to Walleye boadrs and we both like them. I put holes farther forward so I could move the weight to the front when pulling Jakes and 8inch Believers. I also like my boards to release so I put a heavy duty Offshore release on the back and made flags so I could see them in rough water. They always float with the foam side up and are hard to see without the flags. If you are not runnig boards, you are missing fish. I have seen times here on Kinkaid when the only thing that worked was running lures 2 ft. down on 20ft. of line on the boards. Later

I agree, this is a personal choice. I have no problems with getting the Off-Shore boards off. Well, except for when I fish with JoMusky! hehehe

And no, they are not cheap. But, buy a couple of each, and compare. Then sell the ones you don't like. That's what I did, and I only lost $5 a piece. Not too bad for boards that were a few years old. At one time, I had 18 boards in my boat. Now I'm down to 12. Sick, ain't it?

I was at the show and he also talked about using mounting tracks from www.pursuitsports.com which allows for easy equipment changes for your rod holders.

Hey did you guys see the new orange offshore boards? They are made for bigger baits and are incidentally designed more like the walleye board. I might have to check them out.

I looked at them and they do resemble the Walleye. They are OR-31's and come with the heavy OR-30 release. I don't know the price. Later
