Can anyone tell me if they have had any experience making single strand wire leaders with 175 pound wire? and what are you guys using to get the barrel twist, and to make a round eye at both ends? I know how to make crimp style leaders, just wanted to try to make jerkbait leaders. any tips would help.

I just started making my own leader with 175lb wire. I first tried the Dubro wire twister but fond that to be hard. It works good for smaller pound wire but 175lb was a pain for me. Then I got a new wire forming tool. I don't know the name but here is the ebay iteam #7116127699. This tool works great and is cheap makes great loops. Also get some round nose pliers to start the loops off. That way you can determine how big you want them. Hope this helps alittle. Has anyone ever tried the Dubro wire straightners and do they do a good job.
