Posts: 115 | Add up all the equitment you own rods reels baits gas and all the other crazy stuff us muskie fisherman have to have and do the math Cheap boat set up--$10'000 rods&reels-----------$1'000 baits------------------$2'000 other misc. cost ----$1000 ------------------------------- $14'000 DIVIDED BY THE NUMBER OF FISH YOU CAUGHT WE'LL USE 15 = $933 PER FISH The more fish you catch the faster that dollar amount goes down , So the next time you have to hear it's time to cut the lawn or paint the house ,you'll be able to explain to your wife why it's so important to go fishing . It's like a sale ,but darling look at all the money I'm saving . The bottom line is "catch more fish and see your return on investment grow" May Santa bring you all 50inchers for 2005

Posts: 670 Location: Minnetonka , MN. | Get real . To put a cost on the fish you would have to keep one . I will never do that. ( on orders from the wife) ![]() Edited by TECK 12/18/2004 9:17 AM

Posts: 342 Location: Passaic, NJ - Upper French River, ON | Handyman - Read this in The Economist, August 21, 2004 - "......there is evidence from other types of fishery that removing the biggest individuals from a population affects the gene pool in a way that results in the evolution of a smaller maximum size...." Never heard it said more succintly or clearly. Oh,.....yes I have.......Catch, Photo, RELEASE !!!

Posts: 1504 Location: Oregon | I have found it's better to not put math to things like this, particularly if your wife happens to be around. Do the same figuring for a deer hunt and you could have easily had a half of beef cut and wrapped delivered to your front door! Oh and what about the costs associated with your wife and kids? Lets not even go there! The opportunity costs are huge! RM
