| Just back from the Madtown again. One forty incher, but an ending to the "dude" story, I think. Bumped into a friend of mine who does a ton of panfishing on the lakes. Great source of information this time of the year when it comes to getting a deep water muskie. Anyway. While talking to him I mentioned the "dude" episode to him. He gets this smirk on his face like he just ate the two hundred pound choclate canary, and tells me to stop by his house. His house is on my way home anyway.
Last night as he comes to the landing he notices two guys argueing mightly near the ramp, exchanging, yup, "dude, yer such a furlippin idiot" type plesantries. He doesnt think too much about it until equipment starts to fly because one guy is leaving the other behind. Now he is interested. The "dude" left behind takes his stuff, and no kidding throws it into a trash can!!! My buddy was on it like a horny man, well you get the idea. Check the list. One St.Croix listed at about a hundred bucks, Abu reel, seventy something. Lures.
Grim Reaper, two
Eight Buchers of various sizes
Three Mania Ernies
Four Mania Burts
Fourteen Bucktails of various makes
Six Safteypin type Bucks
One Cysco Kid
Three Creek Chubs
I could go on forever, almost, all I know is this guy threw away at least five hundred dollars worth of muskies equipment. Maybe more. Rod, stock, box and barrel. I thought this was unreal, until he says that he gets down the road and notices something on the side of the road. A muskie cradle, which he gave to me since my birthday is coming up at the end of the month. Life in Madtown, and fishing just gets better and better. Narf home the big Marly Muskies Dudes!!![:p] |
