In an attempt to dispell any rumors or false statements arising within the muskie world, I contacted Bob Meshikomer to hear directly from him any details that he could disclose at this time about what Simply Fishing is planning for next year. Please understand that all of the below information IS SUBJECT TO CHANGE OVER TIME.

Simply Fishing Muskie Classic 2005
-will be held in Minnesota.
-2 permits are currently under review by the Minnesota DNR
-two different lakes being considered, same date. (only one location will be used)
-Date will be the 14th to the 18th of September.
-Lake location cannot be disclosed at this point
-same basic tournament format as last year's event.
-between December 1st and 10th the Minnesota DNR will be informing Simply Fishing the rejection/granting of permits for the tournament dates/locations

NAPA (North American Pro Am) Circut to begin in 2005
-an (eventual multi-species) event circuit pairing professionals with amatuers in a two day tournament format.
-One Western and one Eastern Wisconsin location to be chosen.
-2 tournaments in the planning phase for 2005
-entries: $400 Pros and $200 for Amatuers
-new and different hours schedule (TBA)
-Winners (Pro) of each event win both designated prizes as well as AUTOMATIC entry into the Simply Fishing Classic.
*the winners who use this entry will have a choice of partner for the Classic.

ALSO: Simply Fishing is putting inquiries out to other tournament circuits to see if they are interested in sending their champion team to the Classic, details to be ironed out.

For more information, please contact Simply Fishing directly at: 651-429-3351

This is all the information that was given to me today (11/16/04). I will be attempting over time to gather more details as they come available.

Curious,
Because of the size of m lacs do you think it will scare or keep anglers from entering. I know I could not use my boat and be comfortable in some of the waves that kick up.

Won't be much worse than what Vermilion whipped up for us this year.

20+ mph winds on the Big Pond would be challenging to say the least.I would need an 8'shaft on my trolling motor!!!!!!!Either way, I'm in. Steve
