Subject: Old aluminum rod

I came across and old 2-piece (threaded) aluminum rod. Wooden butt end, but no markings anywhere. Does anybody have any idea where I could find some info about this ? I've tried many antique sites, but nothing resembles this. I'd appreciate any information. Probably some old machinest was bored one day ????

Can't give you any info, but some advice would be not to use it in a Thunder Storm
