Awesome fish and pictures. I'm hoping that we can get Webster to give one up like that for me and my son soon.

Way cool!!!! No need for good father and son pics to necessarily have a youngster in the frame. I lost my pop 10years ago and never got out fishing with him since I was about 10 years old. I'm now tring to get my grandfather(84 years old) to hook his first muskie. Congrats on a special occasion.

Awesome post! Nice fish too, but it's all about being on the boat with your dad.
Me and my dad just started about a year and a half ago and have a blast everytime out on the water. He just missed the biggest one we've ever seen this past weekend at the boat, upper 40's possibly 50, and about 15 minutes later I lost one. Haha oh well, it was fun anyways. Anyways Congrats!

thanks guys. Couldn't agree more with the fact that just getting time on the water with those you care about is the most important thing of all of it. My mother gets out there sometimes too, and I wouldn't trade anything in the world for the time in the boat with either one of my folks.

Funny thing is, my mother used to fish with her father and caught her first legal muskie at age 14...which eventually led to our family getting into fishing, and it has been something just great we've shared as a family my whole life.

The 47"'s are just bonus.

As the "Father" in "Father and Son IN Double" I'm just catcing up to the posts from Josh and everyone else. I can't begin to tell you how great it was to read through this. All I can add is... whether you're the father, or the son, in the equation...get out there on the lake together!! It's time that you just can't beat...and as Josh said, the fish fish are great, but they're just a bonus.

Great pics & post. My Dad's a golfer but he comes along from time to time. My youngest daughter caught her first Pike aged 3, my son now 2 will be trying for his first next summer.

Rereading this thread has really gotten me to thinking. I haven't fished with my dad for a long time, he passed away 14 years ago, but I fish with my 8 year old son every weekend from spring through fall. We've created many great memories and sure is something special. There is times when you get frustrated with a young one with knots and casts where they shouldn't be......and even a hook in the back of the head once in a while LOL. But it is still very special even with the frustrations. Thanks to all on this thread for giving me a minute of pause to think about it.
