Posts: 561 Location: Monee, Illinois | I started out Thursday at Webster at 1pm meet up with with Randy Whiteman and we got started, not 30 min into fishing I had a nice 42 inch fish on. Fish ran at the boat then went out around the front of the boat and jumped out of the water and shook off the hook... The bait came right back at the boat, and Randy and I tried to get out of the way and WHAM right into the left arm of Randy. He was okay, then a 31 an hour later then at about 3:30 I got a 32 then at about 3:45 BAM my biggest musky to date a 45 incher. That was great!!!! I got the fish into the net (great job on the net Randy) we took a couple of pictures and off he went. Not a fat fish but LONG.... Then Friday morning went to Tippy, moved three HUGE fish before 1pm. My buddy John Mack was with me....We decided to leave Tippy and head back to Webster (Stayed at Fishermans Cove), went out during the rain on friday and my buddy Chris Walker (Guide) and john and myself went out in Chris's boat. Chris got a 33 and then I lost another PIG....Fish gave a couple of mean head shakes and then she was gone. Big Fish....Didnt do much Saturday moved some fish, help Mike Hulbert (Guide) fix his boat, well my buddy John did, I can fix a golf club and thats about it, and then got some dinner. Met some great guys from Muskie First at lunch though. Sunday fished Webster with a buddy who works for me in the golf shop Tom Kubon. John had to get back to his wife and kid. Tom new to musky fishing, has only been on the water once before with me. But man will he throw a lure. We fished 12 hours that day and he didnt stop chunking that lure. He missed a nice fish at the boat and lost one after it jumped, I got a 32. Other than that Sunday was slow. We decided to fish Barbee on Monday. Went out and started in some thick fog and had some meat out and a big musky missed our sucker. Then I moved a really fat over 45 fish, just followed my lure to the boat and kinda nipped at it like a littel bluegill then sank to the bottom. The at about 4pm Tom was was feeling the pressure knowing the trip was almost over. Then bam he got his first fish. A 29 inch musky. He was jazzed up big time. Felt good for him. We fished to 6pm and then left. So the sum of the 5 days, I got my biggest musky to date and Tom got his first!!!! Great 5 Days..... Posts: 956 Location: Home of the 2016 World Series Champion Cubs | Nice looking spotted fish but correct me if I'm wrong but I believe that fish when mature will actually be a barred fish. Ive seen this progression a few times and explained by hatchery guys. Still kinda neat though.

Posts: 20219 Location: oswego, il | Karl, I have caught those fish up to 39" and I seen a 47 and they still had spots. I have caught barred fish the same size, I think they are spotted musky.

Posts: 1335 Location: Chicago, Beverly | In Indiana both the Tippecanoe Chain(Tippecanoe, Oswego and James) and the Barbee chain were stocked with the "Leach Lake Strain Spotted Musky" by the Hoosier Musky Club(a Muskie Inc club). These stockings took place from around '97 or '98(Barbee was '98 for sure) through 2003. These musky were in addition to the "Webster Broodstock" fingerlings stocked by the Indiana DNR. Attached is a picture of my Livewell just prior to releasing some Leach Lake strain fish.. Attachments ---------------- '98 Musky Stocking.jpg (55KB - 79 downloads)
