| Got a cold front rolling in this weekend here in IL. They're calling a low of 33 degrees on Sunday and possible rain on Saturday. What do you guys do when you have a fall cold front you have to fish through? Here are some things I was thinking of: slow down, downsize, baits with plastic, glidebaits, slow rolling spinnerbaits, making lots of contact with structure, and/or backing off from the structure and making a couple casts deep once in a while. Any suggestions? Would some of this apply to timbered reservoirs? Any input would be greatly appreciated! |

| SOAK A SUCKER!
If you say "Live bait, no thanks", try plastics (Jigs, Bull Dawgs) and slow moving gliders and jerks.
Also give smaller lures a try, Shad Raps, 6" Jakes, 6" Grandmas, Small Believers, Jointed Baby Depth Raiders, etc.
Good luck,
Steve

Open water fish, in my opinion are not as greatly affected as the shallow water fish. Strap on a mag dawg and get casting. Let it sink, rip, pause, tap, tap, rip, sink......rip, rip...sink, tap, tap, tap..... then repeat!
Good luck! |
