As you may have read in a different thread, I'm going to make a limited # of gliders, but don't have a name for it.
Cady's suggestion of "Armeggedon" has been axed, since that refers to the war to end all wars that will bring about the end of the earth. Not what we refer to when we joke about it, but it isn't really a "catchy" name.
So, instead of taking up space on the board, e-mail me with your suggestions.
The winner will get a free one in the pattern of his or her choice, with their name put on the lure before it is Envirotexed, and sealed for all time.
I'm thinking about personalizing each one with the buyers name before putting the Envirotex on. Making each one a definite "one of a kind". It may take a little extra time, but I'm not mass producing them. I have other things in life that are more important, this is just a hobby.....a very time consuming hobby I'm finding out.
So fire away.
They should be ready to fish by next spring, unless we get a warm October and November, or unless one of you has a place in AZ that I can borrow for a couple of weeks in the winter.

"Cleaver" -#*^@ good name and one that might not get beaten. A lot of lures seem to have male names which is odd as I always think of them as being female. How about you name it after the wife/girlfriend/daughter/mother depending on who has the nicest name or you need to please most.

I've been getting some good ones, but I've got a favorite picked out so far.
For Cady and Slamr, I was thinking of The GAMA Glider. (Inside joke)
Keep 'em coming.

When I was trying to come up with names for my gliders I asked my boy who's 14. He started spitting names out so fast I couldn't believe it.....I made a list I keep online for "future projects" and most all of them he came up with including one of the two I am using now....BeerBelly, hopefully this didn't come to him while watching his dad at the computer, lol. Kids have alot of "slang" for things that most of us can relate to and many of these words make great names for baits. You might consider asking a yungsta, they seem to have a different look at these things.

I knew it was this one the very second that I read it.
The winner is...."The Castor"
As in Castor Canadensis.....the scientific name for the BEAVER!
I'll be in touch with the winner so he can pick out a color pattern.
The Castor Glider

Not a Beaver Castor, a Castor Glider.
Castor is the genus name of the Beaver.
Makes sense to me.
You cast it, don't you?
Eager Beaver, Slippery Beaver, Hot Beaver, Slidin' Beaver....all cute, but inappropriate.
The Castor Glider, is The Beaver Glider.
I wanted to keep the name Beaver out of it.

Wow giving your lure a french name !!! LOL Castor is beaver in french. As well it is pronounced cast- or as in gold and not cast- er like in casting.

That's better yet.
I always tend to use a little gold somewhere in the paintjob anyway.
It might have a french name, but this thing is 100% Polish!
