| Hate to lose a competitor but talked to a sales rep at K mart today, noting what a scroungy selection of casting reels they had and was informed that they are going to quit carrying casting reels of any quality and will be going to all bubble pack reels in the future(i e cheapo). I was a little chagrined because occasionally K Mart has a good deal at this time of year on overstocked models. And even at this time had Bass Tour Series 5600 marked down to 76 from 100(thumbar of a sort kind of like the Black Max. I cannot say if this is just local or will be nationwide but you might check it out, might find something cheap if it is all stores.

| the Big K here where I live already quit selling decent stuff...I usually order all my stuff or get it at the coast...better to support the local bait shop I guess but the best one we had is now bare....[:(] [:sun:] |

| K-Mart does indeed want to have most of there reels in "bubble Packs" This is so that they can put the reels on the pegs instead of behind a case. This way a customer does not have to track down an employee to but it and they don't get stolen as much as they would out of boxes. Just because it's in a bubble doesn't mean that it's cheap, Abu packs there 5500 and 6500's in bubbles if the customer requests so.
Did you hear this from a K-Mart employee or a Rep? What store was it at? |
