My winter project is going to be installing a new radio/cd player. Anybody have any good advise on a decent marine unit? Also, anybody use/suggest satellite radio?

I have satellite radio in my truck. I drive 80 miles a day, and love it. It is also great on rides up north and through Minnesota, as you can get a ton a clear music. I have the Sirius satellite radio. It would be great for a boat too. The only thing you would have top buy extra is the mount for the boat and you can switch the unit between home, truck, and boat. Besides where else can you have a "Hair Nation" channel with all 80's hair bands!!!

This past spring I installed a Clarion XMD3-RET CD player that is Sirius ready. All you need is the satellite tuner and antenna. I also had two Eclipse speakers installed and am very pleased with the sound quality. If you really want to hear music at WOT I would recommend an amplifier to go with it. Anything less than WOT and the Clarion can be heard. It will also accept a CD changer and TV if you really like your toys.

Did you pay the 500.00 MSRP? I like it, dont like the price, but the unit is exactly what I'm looking for.

No, not even close. I think I paid $290 or something like that. If you can wait, I can show it to you during the WMT on the Manitowish Chain. Then you'll get to hear it before making a decision.

dprat is right, That Stereo/CD Player came with my new boat and I love it. Sounds great and works great to. A must if you want some good tunes on the water or at least at the dock.

GMG - no, my ease out is Rest Lake. I'm staying on the chain, so I may take the boat to Little Bohemia's for the rules meeting on Friday, weather permitting. If not, we can try to hook up somehow.

Maybe when you motor over to my boat to marvel at the three 50 inchers we're going to catch?
