Posts: 32902 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | A gentleman called in to Tuffy asking about a particular model that lends itself to Fly fishing, and wondered if I could put him in touch with anyone who fishes Muskies with a fly rod regularly. Who might I recommend?

Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | I do it quite often, all my salmon and steelhead fly rods work well for pike and musky. I dont guide for them on the fly though. You want to talk to Bill Sherer of We Tie It in Boulder Junction, I see him guiding clients up on Palmer quit a bit. Bill Sherer's We Tie It 10378 Main Street P.O. Box 516 Boulder Junction, Wisconsin 54512 (715) 385-0171 (800) 984-9384 fax (715) 385-2553 email: [email protected] I imagine a nice flat, low to the water boat like an Esox Mag would work awsome. My Fishhawk really does a nice job of it with the modified "V". Edited by Gander Mt Guide 7/28/2004 9:38 AM

Posts: 7056 Location: Northwest Chicago Burbs | I did a bit of searching, and here are a few tidbits I found. I love askjeeves.com Bill Sherer of We Tie It Fly shop in Wisconsin also has some videos out on fly fishing for muskies. Here is a link to it: http://wetieit.com/ He also has some special musky flies for sale in his catalog. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/1555661130/categoricalgeome/... - book on Pike and Muskies on a fly rod. http://www.flyfishingtoronto.com/bass&muskie.htm - quick info page http://www.flyanglersonline.com/features/panfish/part256.html - good starters info page Thats all I had time to sift through that looked good, but here is the overall link to the search I did: http://web.ask.com/web?q=Where+can+I+get+information+about+Fly+Fish...

Posts: 20231 Location: oswego, il | There is a guy who guides for musky on the fly out of ghost lake lodge near hayward. I think, not sure his name is Dan Edwards? He is an older gentleman, ties his own flies and he has been on TNN and espn2 several times fly-fishing for musky. I met him once, he has a ton of great stories, cool guy.

Posts: 476 Location: WI | I've fished with Dan Edwards for fly fishing muskies. One heck of a guy. He used to guide out of Boulder Lodge on Ghost Lake up in Hayward, but I'm not sure where he is guiding out of now. Here's a link and his e-mail address from the below website. Also a cool clip of him catching a musky on a fly rod. [email protected] http://www.ecustomflies.com/danedwards.html There are a few other guides out of Boulder Lodge that guide for muskies on fly rods as well. www.boulder-lodge.com Got One
