Just got back from a week on the BIG V!! What a blast!! Had 13 family members up from all over the country and had Cliff the walleye guide and MuskyTom hired for 2 days each! Boy, do those guys know thw lake! Fresh walleye for dinner!!! MMMMMM I feel sorry for all those guys fishing in that musky tourney this fall! MuskyTom could fish that lake in his sleep!!! Nearly every place we pulled up to he would tell you where to toss your bait, and darned if you didn't have a hit or follow!! In two days of fishing we raised 23 fish, had 5 hits and 3 in the boat. Unbelievable!!! How a guide could retain so much info about what bait to use, speed of retrieve, boat positioning, and where the fish would be on stucture or weeds is beyond me. The guy really knows his stuff! Plus he's funny as heck! We pulled up to one spot and he told my 13 year old son to put on this purple bucktail, and cast to the right side of this laydown. My son casts and Tom and I are sitting in the chairs talking, "HOLY CRAP" my son yells, we jump up and there's a high 40's in hot pursuit of the bucktail! Figure 8!, figure 8! I yell as my son pulls the bucktail out of the water!! O-well, chalk it up to experience! Can't wait to go back sometime! If any of you folks are going up there, MuskyTom and Cliff are the guys to hire!
