Posts: 561 Location: Monee, Illinois | Hope everyone has a safe 4th of July weekend. I know it will be a tuff fishing weekend with all the boat traffic, but lets post our catches on this Topic to see how tuff it was. List the Lake and tackle used and time of day. I plan on catchin the world record musky while everyone else is watching fireworks. Have a great 4th! Pgaschulz Edited by pgaschulz 7/2/2004 11:02 AM

Posts: 2112 Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | Didnt head up north Friday like the rest of the free world, but Saturday, my soon to be wife (in two weeks) and I drove up to Caldron Falls and fished. NEVER EVER saw that much recreational traffic on that lake! Imprompto Jet ski races, you name it. Several Jet skis got within 30 yards, and earned the standard 1 finger salute. had 2 follows. one on a top raider, the other on a duck tail spinner bait.

Posts: 150 | Went 2 for 3 yesterday. 40 and a 43. Picked Kevin up around 10am at the ramp and went back out to troll for another hour. We had a fish on in the first 15 minutes. When she came to the surface I could tell it wasnt hooked well. We both thought it was mid 40s to maybe a bit bigger. Boat traffic was CRAZY!! I might try and take my the family out this afternoon and do some trolling. Have a safe and Happy 4th!! Randy

| Friday morning 7/2 I caught a nice 36 inch musky on the Chip. The only musky landed the entire trip, but at least it got the skunk out of the boat! | |||

Boat traffic has been insane since saturday... Finally saw the dnr cops ticket someone for speeding.... about time...

Posts: 74 Location: MIlton Ontario Canada | Hey everyone! We had an unreal weekend this weekend in a small inland lake in northeastern Ontario this weekend. We boated 9 muskies including one that measured in at a 49 inches with a 20 inch girth. Not a real fat fish but the longest fish that we have boated out of this particular lake. We got a 43 incher as well with a 21 inch girth which was also a real nice fish. The rest of the fish measured in between 37 and 40 inches. It was a great weekend we lost probably 5 fish too so it could have been even better. The two 49 and 43 inchers were both caught Speed trolling between 6 and 7 Miles per hour too which made for some reall exciting hits. The 49 fell to a Sledge and the 43 came on a Perch Jake. Gotta love that summer peak period! Matt

Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | Lost a nice 40+ boatside friday when my girlfriend hit it in the face with the Frabill Saturday was tourist day..stopped by Musky Hunter in St.Germain...Closed on Saturdays???? Sunday I got out just before the cold front hit. Nailed a 41.25" Tiger (my best) on a Baby Jointed Depth Raider, a few minutes later I drilled a 40" on a Power Probe (my first glider fish) and about 10 casts after that I had another fat fish roll over the same Power Probe....seen three fish in less than 20 minutes...after that..NOTHING. Monday I fished the Cisco Chain for 4 hours...nada. Man did it get nasty up by us on Sunday night/Monday morning...low 40's upper 30's. I'm happy with the 15 minute flurry. Posts: 3242 Location: Racine, Wi | Only got out for a little while with Shep on Sat. Mannnnn, I needed that after moving all day. We didn't score any fish, but did manage to get one of our board lines cut by a waterskier (at least we got the board and bait back). I also lost my favorite Depth Raider. It was a great time none the less.

Posts: 74 Location: MIlton Ontario Canada | PGASCHULZ Hey, what I do while speed trolling sledges is basically just throw the rod in the down easter then just fly around the lake different structures trying to stay relatively shallow seeing that it only goes down about 5 feet tops while trolling. They are great speed trolling lures and I have done really well on them in the past few years including a few of my fishing partners boating some real nice fish on them as well. Anyways give it a try they look awesome in a strait troll. Also if my mond serves me correctly the Sledge Bait was originaly design for speed trolling reasons. Good luck Matt

Posts: 148 Location: DES MOINES, IOWA | Well, I got to play net boy to my son Jim who took 2 in the 30,s Friday, and Sunday, and Saturday a 47 x 18, all at LOTW, Sabaskong Bay.The 47 was taken at 5 p.m. on a brass spoon on a figure 8, after the fish missed it at the boat on a previous cast.Friday was the dissapointing day with over a dozen follows from 5:30-6:30 p.m. from all size Muskies off of one island.I lost a large Musky who got me into the heavy weeds, and I couldn,t get him out to open water, before he shook the hook on me, off that same island.Same island had about a 15-16 pound Northern come flying at my son,s bucktail missed it twice on the 8, and then did a 180 and snapped at my grandson,s spinnerbait that was in the water, and missed that also.I swear that fish had a definite sight problem.
