Hey,

These fish show up at the strangest times. I was up in Vilas Co. last week during that
monster cold front. I was out Friday morning on one of the largest lakes in the county.
I was throwing a Bulldawg and I raised a real monster. This was the largest fish I've
ever seen in Wisc behind one of my lures. I have seen one larger fish in Door County
during the Spring of 2001. That fish was sunning itself up on a small rock bar.
This fish (Vilas fish) followed right up to the boat and then turned broadside. I got a long
look at her. I saw her from head to tail and then completely broadside. I have seen fish
similar to this in Canada the past couple of years but not many here. I think she would
have went around 35lbs. She was no 40-50lber but a tank none the less. It was good
to see this fish in Vilas Co.

What a wierd time to have her show up. The conditions couldn't have been any worse. It
was about 25 degrees below average. You never know .......

Hi Greenduck,

I thought you might appreciate the attached pic. One of the old time musky hunters got the fish of his lifetime out of a Vilas lake last fall. This fish went just over 54"

I myself have a moved a 50"+ fish twice this year, but I cant get her to go. Same fish, same spot!

Bill, stick that piggy!!!!
I hear your excitement. I was on a "Waukesha Area Lake" last night with the wife, and raised a definite 50"er. I calmly said, "Christine, look at this" and she says "Oh my God, That thing is about half the size of the boat!!!!" (That would have to be an 8 1/2' musky) None the less, it was a good fish right on the back of my bulldawg. We had trolled for 2 hours previous to this, and it was my 3rd cast on the spot. Unfortunately, I couldn't stay into the evening and night to hit her again. Hopefully Mr. Extreme got a shot at her.
