| Just wondering what people thought about this. If you could only go once, which month would you choose? Are the muskies more spread out and harder to find in August? | |||

Posts: 119 Location: Sioux Narrows | I would have to say July is your best bet when wanting to catch fish, have had some good days in August.July the fish are just coming off the spawn and have the feed bags on and ready to bite.Good luck in your choice and also may want to factor around lunar phases when choosing you dates. Over here I say the fishing is always good, you just need to find out what the fish are doing but there is as many fish to be caught in August as there are in July or September. Actualy when the temperatues drop at the end of August may actualy bring up some deep water fattys in the catchable range.

Posts: 544 Location: Alsip, Il | If you are going to LOW, I suggest the second week of July to the first week of August. Prime time and right before bloom, fish are shallow, easier to fish. Al

| July generally is better, but there seems to be less pressure in August. | |||

Posts: 100 Location: Blaine, MN 55449 | Eagle Lake in Aug is AWESOME! The fish in later Aug are starting to put on feed bags for the coming fall. Some of the big fish that I have seen come off of Eagle have been taken in Aug-Oct. Stay at Waldhof's Bay Lodge (great little family place, very well priced and very comfortable.) Ben
