Fished Waconia today and got completely skunked! Did not even see a fish! Talked to several other fisherman today and they were all having the same problem. High clear skies with little wind and a downpour the night before, not the best conditions to fish under. Always a good time to be the the lake fishing, even when the bite is tough! So, anyone know how many fish were caught? What lakes? etc... Any info would be beneficial. By the way I was with a buddy in a silver/red/black/ Skeeter with Johnson on the back. I am curious if I talked to any of you today. Hopefully the fishing picks up this week. It could be real good for the Metro Muskie Tournament's first stop on Waconia next week. Any info on the tournment results today would be greatly appreciated. Take care all!

What would be great if people would post day and times of the tournaments. There is nothing worse than showing up to a lake and finding it a tournament lake that day. I've got no problems with tournaments, just am looking for some relatively quiet places to fish.

Tony,
First place through third place was from Forest lake. First place was taken by a member of the TrueGlide Pro Staff with a 41" and a 43". Second place was a 46" and 3rd place was a 43"(I think). Fishing was tough today for the most part except for the two fish for first, our teams only had limited action. Joe

I was on Waconia for the tourney yesterday as well and it was brutal. My boat partner and I saw 3 fish which was pathetically more than everyone we talked to. Congrats to the winners.
We were on Waconia last year and I boated a 42" which didn't even make the top 10. A 43" being in third place is about the smallest fish to place that high in the last 4 years maybe lnoger. Why the slow fishing? Was it the 6 straight days of an East wind and all the rain?
Just got off of Calhoun aroun 10:00a.m. today and saw one 30 incher.
