| hey all,
for those of you who've been there recently...what do you suggest to jump-start my pattern searching during our early-season vacation next week?
we're staying on Boot Lk (west of Minocqua and LdFlambeau in Iron County), but plan on trailering around if we need to - the Turtle/Flambeau is within minutes of our cabin.
thanks for the help...pictures to follow (i hope).

| Make sure you give boot a try while you are up there. It can be really hot at times. Give it a lap or two and if you are not seeing anything hten move to a different lake. It is usually hit or miss. |

Location: Oconomowoc, WI | I have had excellent luck on Boot in the fall but I'm sure it could be great this time of year as well. Bucktails in the cabbage have outperformed everything else. Almost directly across the street (Hwy 182) is Upper/Lower Springstead Lake. Give this lake a look for excellent numbers of fish with a chance at few big ones as well. I fish these lakes several times a year and they produce fish without fail at all times of the year. Black bucktails with orange blades best bait on Springstead, although twitching has produced many fish throughout the year. Don't be afraid to throw right into the thickest clumps of weeds you can find. |
