Posts: 129 | Well some pics have emerged on a monster that was 59" x 30" on Georgian Bay. She was caught on May 3rd if myy mind serves me right. The hold on the fish is pretty bad, and I hope he let her go. Wow though on that fish!!! just goes to show that the record is still on my dorrstep Musk. Posts: 1462 Location: Davenport, IA | Daaang, the fish is bigger than the guy that caught it. I'd be afraid of being eaten. I'd believe 59x30 based on the picture. Edited by Schuler 5/31/2004 10:18 PM

If real, could be a world record. Who can confirm if this fish is real, how big it was, and whether it was let go or not! Steve H, see why I answered your big fish location question with Georgian Bay now! Steve

Posts: 149 | Nice Monster! It's encouraging to see a recent fish that is a legitimate challenge to end the current WR bickering. Off to plan a trip to Georgian Bay...

Posts: 132 Location: Kawarthas, Ontario | The fish was caught on Georgian Bay on what appears to be a 7" perch coloured Husky Rapala. It was 59 x 30" and was released by the angler, who was fishing for pike. The gentleman's name who caught and released the fish was Hart. Truly an awesome fish, and grounds to give us all reason to believe that a new world record is just around the corner. Regards, Steve Wickens STRIKE ZONE Muskie Charters

Steve Was that fish caught this year, I though I remeber seeing that pic last spring, or was that a different fish. Not trying to cause any controversy, just triggered something in my head. Still one heck of a fish. Troyz

Posts: 132 Location: Kawarthas, Ontario | This fish was caught this year (2004) in early May - sorry, I don't have the exact date. I seem to recall a big OOS fish was caught on the Ottawa last year, but have no further info; nor did I see any of the photos. A pair of photos of this fish are posted on the www.muskystriker.com board/site under the "fish of a lifetime" thread. It truly gives us all reason to hope that the 70 pound mark is going to fall soon. Regards, Steve Wickens STRIKE ZONE Muskie Charters

At the risk of sounding stupid, what does OOS mean? Thanks Joe

Out of season (OOS) That fish, if she was released successfully and remains healthy, should be world record size within the next year! Can you say MONSTER?

Posts: 148 Location: DES MOINES, IOWA | Wow, and he is holding it close to him, and not extended out.On a 7" Rapala.Well, that sure blows my bigger the bait, the bigger the fish philosophy.Curosity, I wonder if this fish is full of spawn or always that girthy. It looks like Georgian Bay is going to set the record eventually, with the amount of big fish coming out of there.

A 66 lber--wow! Does anyone know what section (Moon, French, etc) of Georgian Bay this was caught?

Posts: 129 | I feel bad for the fish though, that hold on the fish would be terribly stressful on it. And yes that fish would be full of eggs (caught May 3rd '04). I hope that she lives longer, as she has more than enough potential to be a WR. I really hope that this is the year that a 'true' WR is caught and the belt stays in "Canada" , I think a 70 + lber will be caught this year (take note, that I called it) and I know where she is too just got to get her to bite.
