Nice job. For you guys who don't think ladies can fish muskies, you better watch out for these two. They hung right in there at Shelbyville and ran a great pattern on Sunday, netting them a 39+ and a 6th place finish. Way to go Debbie and Diana ( princess musky).

Me and Steve Jonesi were VERY UPSET we werent able to get the ladies' fish catching on film, but we talked to them soon after and it was GREAT to see a team SO EXCITED by their success! From that moment on they were BEAMING with excitement, you would have thought they had WON the tournament they were so happy....actually they seemed about 100X more excited then the team that did win it! Congrats again!

Keep up the hard work -- or just have fun, either way love to see the ladies pulling in big muskies!

Caught my first legal last summer and helped cinch the muskie league first place position for my team.

Again, great job!!

More power to them. I hope they win a few along the way. I hope they bring more ladies into the sport. May they look like them as well!

Are these the same ladies who had the "early" release at Cave Run? Looks like it. Congrats to them.

Twitcher,

You have the right team. The net they were using had a hole in it that allowed the legal fish to get its gills in a dangerous situation. Di, RVP of the Shawnee Musky Hunters Chapter of MI by the way, took her scissors and cut the fish free ... possibley saving the fish ... but certainly costing them a Top Ten finish and a check in their first tournament.

A very fine example of the character and passion these two bring to the game and one that I hope sets the tone for others around them. HATS OFF and congratulations ... good luck to you both.

Too bad you lost that fish at Cave Run, you deserve a pat on the back for boating a fish during that tough bite. Keep on fishin'!

MuskieFIRST will be covering the Eagle River PMTT in depth, including video. Perhaps the ladies would have a little time during pre-fishing to cut an on-the-water interview?

To everyone who took the time to congratulate Di and myself, I say thank you so much. I was so down when we lost our first fish but somehow I have fogotten all about that little bugger!!!
I would also like to say my hats off to the nicest musky fishermen I have ever met. Every single gentleman on the trail bought a smile to my face every day. We had more, "good luck girls" every competition than I can count and... all day my guys would ask, caught one yet girls? No, was the usaul answer but on Sunday when we said yes, we had quite a few double takes. I'm taking ownership of the gentlemen on the trail. You all are now my guys, I don't care what other girls come along, you're all my guys.
I look forward to Eagle River & wish the very best to you all, just like you did to Di and myself. Thank you again for accepting us so graciously to the sport of musky fishing.
"Fish On"

sworrall,

I'm sure I can speak for Di as well as myself, we would love to speak with you about our favorite past time. We will be pre-fishing in June, so just let us know. We're very excited about fishing in WI. We both love WI fishing, we call it our home waters. We've both been going to Mercer for years and never knew it until last November when we met. Small world!!!
Have a great day
Debbie
