When charging your trolling motor battery.....does everyone unplug the motor BFORE charging the battery....
will it FRY the motor if you don't?????
Never did unplug the motor on previous boats but now have become overly concerned that my time is coming to screw up........[:0] [:sun:]

Hey Spongy: I have always unplugged every thing when charging the batteries and have never had a problem, it''s just cheap insurance to spend 5 min each time vs possible hundreds of $$$. Plus it forces me to check the connections for wear or corrosion which could cause problems of thier own.

Thanks John! 1 answer is all I need to remember to unplug it all! Had a gut feeling that my next rig would be the 1 to screw up the trolling motor....[:sun:]

Spongy,

I have a Minnkota Autopilot that requires that it be unplugged when charging or else you will truly fry the internal compass.
