Location: Eau Claire, WI | I need some help in finding a color of Tuff XP that they had out the first year...
It was kind of a dull yellow/orange/amber not the bright yellow they have now. Some of was packaged under the "green" label and some under "yellow"...
I bought a 150 yd spool of 80 pound 2 years ago at the MN Expo (can't remember from who, I think Reeds..?) to give it a try and I really like it. Somehow it seems a little differenent than the green style I am using on most of my other rods now. I ordered some "Yellow" from Bass Pro and when it showed up it was much different.... like the green only bright-bright yellow.
Anyone seen any of this on a shelf anywhere..? Appreciate the help.

Location: Bagley,MN 56621 | Been there Mark, I bought a small spool at Reeds one time a few years ago, box said green, but it was actually brown..........I really liked it.
When I was looking to buy my "mongo" spool of line I searched high and low.........talked to The Tuff Line people and they have/had no intention of bringing out that color..........it was basically an "oops".
The woman at the time told me of a tackle shop in Texas that might have some of that color left........I didnt follow through with it, went ahead and ordered the 2500 yrds of green XP from Crazy D.
I think the brown color thing was in my head, put up more numbers last year with less hours on the green. |

It's not the color as much as the way I like how it lays on the spool, doesn't seem to kink, and seems really nice in cold weather....
I shoulda bought all I could have gotten my hands on when I had the chance... You don't still have the name of that place in TX do ya...?
Thanks... |
