Posts: 2427 Location: Ft. Wayne Indiana | Friday 4-23-04 Fished Webster from about 5:30 pm till dark. Lots of surface activity in the back waters as well as the channel. Started to fish just outside the channel and raised one about 40. Fish came from 5 feet of water. I had to then head back to the ramp to pick up my brother. Surface activity was still going on so I decided to throw my bulldawg around the ramp. Fish came up and missed it, but then nailed it next cast. 36 inches from 4 feet of water. Water temps were in the high 50's to around 60. Saturday 4-24-04 Fished Webster in the from sun up till about 1:30. Fished all in the shallow flat with very little activity. Moved back into the back waters and got a 31 incher on a 1 oz. Chrome Rattle Trap. Water temps were again in the upper 50's to around 60. Moved to Tippy around 2:00 and very quickly started moving fish. I concentrated on shallow flats again with weeds. I started moving fish on the STC Glider (my lure) out of 4-6 feet of water. The first fish tried to eat but missed the lure. Raised 4 fish from the same spot, fish ranged from lower 40's to upper 30's. Water temps were in the upper 50's, mostly 57-58. My brother raised 2 fish on Tippy as well on a mag. Bulldawg. Sunday 4-25-04 Started out back on Tippy, could not get a fish going on the STC, so I headed into James. First spot we went to my brother had 2 fish up of nice size on a black and orange bulldawg. These fish came from 5 feet and weeds. The majority of the morning was pretty slow, with only a few follows and no real active fish. Once the wind picked up so did the fishing. My brother lost a nice one around 40 inches in 2 feet of water on the same black and orange Bulldawg. The STC glider finally kicked in another nice fish in the the lower 40's tried to eat it but missed it completely. My brother Tom landed a 35 on the orange and black Bulldawg, and once again in 4 feet of water with weeds. We ended the day with a nice follow from a mid to upper 40 inch fish on the sunken island on James, and once again on the black and orange Bulldawg. Friday- 36 on a Bulldawg, 4 feet of water Saturday- 31 on a Rattle Trap, 2 feet of water Sunday- 35 Bulldawg, 4 feet of water Total of 14 fish followed, lost 2, boated 3. Webster Temps: 56-62 James Temps: 54-60 Tippy: 54-58 Webster Visibility: 3.5 feet James Visibility: 6.5 feet Tippy visibility: 10+ feet The fish ARE still in the spawn mode as you can tell. The 35 and 36 still had their eggs. If you are going out this week, I would once again stay on the shallow flats. A wide varity of baits are working right now as well. Everything from Bulldawgs to Bucktails have caught fish this weekend. Mike Hulbert Edited by MikeHulbert 4/26/2004 1:51 PM

Posts: 1335 Location: Chicago, Beverly | Must not have worked shallow enough sunday as we saw no fish on Tippy sunday. Wind was a bitch sunday.. Steve(Muskyboy) and I had some fish following on Friday, one around low 40's on the chain. Saturday we spent on Webster, came across two spawning shallow there but saw nothing else. Monday I saw 1 fish around 30" just off my dock on Kuhn(I am on one of the channels), couldn't entice him to bite...
