 | Over there today. Lake has water incoming and gates are pretty open to but not at full bore. 2.7 foot rise yesterday if I read my Dam report correctly, and 1.5 " rain both Thur. and Fri.. As bad as that sounds and as bad as it can be, there is actually real good water quality in the mid lake portion between Holmes Bend and Emerald Isle. Most temps I saw were from 61 to 65. Upper lake on Robinson side has lots of bait like normal, but nobody was catching much up there from reports I got. Lots of murk, and lots and lots of trash up there. Mid lake much better, still some trash, and wood, to watch out for. Water up in the bushes in many coves and that is usually a good deal to put fish back in the coves and they will bite sooner or later. Did not feel like there was a big rise in lake level today but still coming up I believe. If you are still going in the morning I would suggest pounding coves through the middle, and look for the ones with brush in the water, rather than the steep sided clean coves, shad are in and should be spawning at this temp. White and orange(not flourescent) were working today. |
