Posts: 1237 Location: South Portsmouth, KY | Hello. I have been wanting to get a reproduction done for my 53 incher. I know of Lax and Fittante but is there any others out there that do just as good but have a lower price? Thanks for the information!!!

Posts: 956 Location: Home of the 2016 World Series Champion Cubs | I spent the money on a Lax reprodution (45"X22" Tiger)and when I first set eyes on it I knew it was money well spent. I looked ot others at the various shows and found the quality cant be beat. I WILL be returning for my trophy natural, later this year I'm sure............(positive thinking never hurts) If you have any doubts, stop in their shop if at all possible and surely any doubts you have will disappear.

Posts: 686 Location: Tomahawk, Wisconsin | I would consider a mount not based on price since they will all be within a buck or so and Joe Fittante has my vote. I also venture into Aquatic Arts in Tomahawk WI. and Dave does some really nice work as well.

| I like Advanced Taxidermy in Toronto the best. See this similar thread at M101 or MH for a picture of my fish and Richard Collin's mount of his big fish. | |||

![]() Posts: 910 Location: Hastings, mn, 55033 | my friend had a repro done by artisitic angler, i believe they are out of duluth. they did a great job. i also think the new mold have an open gill plate with replica gills in it, instead of the boxed in, closed gill plate. not sure how their price compares to the others.

Posts: 90 Location: Florence, Wisconsin | I got a repo of my first musky done by Randy Desormeu (sp?) of Northland Taxidermy and he did a wonderful job. You should think about checking out his page, I think its Northlandtaxidermy.com. He's out of the U.P. by Sault Ste. Marie. Good luck with you decision. Bo Queen

| Dude, send me a pic...I can barely count to 10, but can carve a sea turtle to scale out of a bar of Ivory soap in less than a minute...need the challenge! | |||

| I feel Fittante does the best work. The detail of the mouth is awesome. He even put some real teeth in my fish. I found a 48" dead musky on Minoqua a bunch of years ago and pulled her stinky ass into the boat and yanked the teeth out. She stunk real bad, but it was worth it....oh ya it was in the spring and there weren't any spear marks...maybe angler related???? Everyone needs to know how to properly handle a musky, before they EVER get on the water. Ok I'll stop rambling..... | |||
