My wife wants to rent a houseboat out of Alma WI in June and I thought fishing on the trip would be fun. So I was wondering how far south muskies run on the Mississippi(if they run at all) or should I pack lighter tackle for other species.

I live in La Crosse. Pack your other for this area. There may be a few that come in from the Black River, but not many--I haven't ever heard of anyone catching any. Big northerns though if you're after teeth and lots of smallies on the wing dams.
