My 1996 Lakeland has been fished very hard and could use a new carpet job. Has anyone done their own or know of someone very reasonble to redo it?

i just finished carpeting mine - doing it yourself is quite easy. i've never done anything like that before, and i managed a pretty decent job. it makes it look brand new.
the key is to TAKE YOUR TIME and plan ahead, the actual "doing" isn't very tough. the trickiest part is doing storage compartment lids, just cut the corners carefully.
i did the whole job for less than $150, on a 17' boat with 7 compartment lids. i got a 20'x8' roll of carpet and have plenty left over.

this is where i got my carpet. definitely go with the 20oz. carpet - it's very nice, especially once you get it all layed in the boat. i got my glue, knife (new sharp blades!), etc. at Home Depot.

I just got done doing an 89 Champion 20' bass boat. The job is relatively easy but labor intensive in removing all the old glue. I was able to get 20z marine grade carpeting at Lowes. I ended up getting 30' of carpet because I wanted to do all the insides of the rod lockers too. I think the whole bill was $210 for carpet, glue and some tools. I am attaching a pic. just make sure you work front-> back or back->front to ensure you keep the grain of the carpet the same.

to do carpetlaying that was in bassandwalleyeboat magazine. i have a older boat and have to lay carpet in mine and i am not the kind of guy to do it. but i maight try it and see for myself....bill
