| Who is using a crankbait the majority of the time and actaully cranking it most of the retrieve rather than using it as primarily a twitch bait, and what are you using.
As someone that primarily enjoys a visual strike, I do not use cranks much, though I find the triple d extremely useful, but I am using it more like a twitch or jerk bait than any kind of honest cranking.

Location: Eagan, MN | I always crank believers straight in. Other crankbaits are about a 50/50 mix, with some casts all twitch, some casts all straight, and most casts somewhere in between, until I find something that works. I'd rather use a straight retrieve, and twitch when I have to. |

| 1st6ft,As a manufacture of crank baits I think I can help.I my self love to see the fish strike.I cant seem to hook up on topwaters though. So I designed a bait that could be cranked straight in and even on a long cast would only reach a depth of 2-3 feet.As a twitch bait it stays up even higher and throws off a tremendous flash. My #1 retreive has been crank 5-6 times and then give it a twitch and repeat. The fish cant stand the slight pause in between the twitch and crank. To check out the S S SHAD go to www.smokertackle.com.Hope this helps Kyle |

| I'll second what Kyle says of his bait. I've thrown them this Spring and really like what I see.It does exactly what he says it does.I was able to see the bait well(White), even in the chocolate milk on the Cave in March.I bought a handful at the Chicago show based on what I'd heard from some pretty knowledgable people. They'll catch fish for me this year from Kentucky to Canada!Good Luck! Location: Ogden, Ut | I almost always just crank them right back in. I vary the speed of the retrieve, but usually don't do a lot of stopping/twitching. Bear in mind that I am fishing exclusively for tigers (that's all we have) and use baits that are 'annoyingly' small. I've tried, w/o success, doing a bunch of twitching on the retrieve, but the plain ol' crank 'em in style greatly out-opruduces it. I have not given it as much of a chance as I probably should, but the straight retrieve is working well enough to keep me doing it.
