I would love to hear some info also.

I am planning on trolling around for some river pike in a few weeks. Tell me how this sounds and let me know if you would do anything different.

I was thinking about trolling a bit slower than my usual 4-5mph.

I am planning on trolling down the shoreline that gets the most sun. I was thinking of putting a small spinnerbait on the rod that will be closest to the shoreline so I wont get snagged on any stumps. The middle rod\Prop wash I was thinking of putting on a Zalt. The "Out" Rod I was planning on using a daredevle spoon. I am not sure about using the zalt for trolling as last year I tested it and it could not hold very high speeds at all. I am hoping it will hang onto at least 3.4 mph or I will probably go to a stalker on the "Wash Rod."

I am not sure if trolling is the best way in the early part of the year since I have had good luck casting for Pike. It seems like I can catch a lot of 26-32 inch pike early in the year but nothing really big. I was thinking maybe the BIG pike have already abandoned the shallows and are sitting along the dropoffs. Hopefully I will run into a few. Otherwise I will abandon it pretty quick and return to casting in the shallow back bays in 1-2 feet of water. I was planning on fishing from around 11am till about 4pm.
