Does one exist of any quality? I can't seem to find one anywhere online or anywhere else. Looking to spend $150 or less...so loomis and lamiglass are out.

Is the PM70HF2, St. Croix 7'/ 2-piece H Fast Premier, too heavy for a lot of applications?

Thanks for the help

There is a 7'6" Tony Rizzo rod that you can get for about 40-50 bucks.

Hey muskyboy....
can't seem to find that 2-piece maina rod you have on the BPS site. They have an 8'6" MH 2 piece, and a 7'6" H 2-piece but I couldn't find a 7'6", MH, 2 piece....is it an older model maybe?

Mattobrien50....
The 7 foot is a H unfortunately, and I'm really not looking for something quite that sturdy, unless someone can tell me that a 7'0 Heavy St. Croix is multi-functional

I have a 2-piece MH Aurora Steve Worrall series that I might be willing to part with. Email me if interested at [email protected]

Yes mine is from when they first came out, but I can toss any type of bait with it. Don't shy away from the H if that is all they have!

Seems like the 2 piece rods are getting hard to find these days.
I have a St Croix Premier in a 7 foot, heavy power, fast action, 2 piece that is labled PC70HF2, 12-25 lb line, 1/2 - 1 1/2 oz

It is brand new (never had a reel on it yet) but no warranty card. I sent it in I could probably be talked out of it for $100 I think they are $120 if memory is good. Not much of a discount but it is brand new and if you can't find a 2 piecer.. I bought it this winter in my over-spending spree. I was happy to find a 2 piece rod.

"Is the PM70HF2, St. Croix 7'/ 2-piece H Fast Premier, too heavy for a lot of applications? "
It is not a heavy rod, only labled up to 1 1/2 oz lure weight. Pleasantly thin and light I would say. I was intending it for casting the smaller stuff like bucktails and small cranks.

editing again, .. oops, seems the website for croix has my 2 piece at only $105 , $120 is my telescopic. The verdict is still out on the telescopic rods for me. They do shorten up some but not much and they get all scratched up at the sliding part, I hope it isn't weakening it too much.

Also why is there so much variance in lure weight for the same rating of rod. Like MHF at up to 1 1/2 oz vs MHF at up to 4 oz?

lobi...
Thanks, but I'm looking for something rated for a little more lure weight. It's interesting...because St. Croix also has a rod PM76MHF, which is also a 2-piece, heavy, 7' fast action rod, but is rated for 1-4oz lure weight. That's the one I'm curious if it's a descent all purpose rod. Thanks for the response....it's a pitty the two piecer's are fading away...not everyone has a car, or lives where he fishes you know?

thanks,

Josh

Hey ArcheryNut,

Thanks for the offer, damn nice of you. Unfortunately my trips up there are too few and far between, but I'll be heading up there for the Classic in a month or so, and I'll definitely look for you on the lakes. You in the Classic?

My father is in a 18' Lund Explorer SS, with a 90 Honda 4 stroke and has a place on Webster. He's a #42 MI member, as am I. Say hi if you run into him, can't ever have enough fishing buddies.
